Taunton Flyer Sportive: Sunday 21st July 2019

The Taunton Flyer sportive, now in its 6th year, takes place from Taunton Racecourse on Sunday 21st July 2019.

The Taunton Flyer is themed around the wartime airfields of East Devon and Somerset, with routes that pass RAF Exeter (Exeter Airport), RAF Dunkeswell, RAF Upottery (Smeatharpe), RAF Culmhead, RAF Merryfield, and RAF Westonzoyland

This popular sportive, offers a mixture of nice, flowing, flat, open roads combined with a couple of testing climbs in the Blackdown Hills (an area of outstanding natural beauty).

The Taunton Flyer offers you a choice of three routes:

  • The Spitfire (58 km / 36 miles)
  • The Dakota (114 km / 70 miles)
  • The Wellington (178 km / 111 miles)

All routes are well signed and fully supported. We have well stocked feed stations with a wide selection of sweet & savory foods, plus hot and cold drinks.

The sportive includes electronic chip timing (with split points) providing you with an official completion time, plus Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded to all finishers according to the medal standards for each age and gender category.
